There are quite a few commands that are popular among bhoppers. If you want to use these commands, you going to have to have the «console» enabled. To do this, go to your options, keyboard options to be exact, and go to advanced settings. Check the «Enable developer console» box.

COMANDS
fps_max 34.8
Helps you out with timing your jumps.

bind mwheelup +jump
Makes it so when you scroll up, your jump is spammed and you can have even better
timing.

bind mwheeldown +jump
Same as above, but with scrolling down.

bind q +left
Will be explained later in the tutorial.

Once you’ve joined the server, you can begin bunny hopping. You can jump by scrolling up/down, depending on which one of the «bind» commands you used (or both).

The basics of bhopping is timing. Think of jumping rapidly in a strait line. It is faster than walking. Bunny Hopping is keeping the speed you get by jumping by barely touching the ground. So in order to be a successful bhopper you need to work on your timing. You need to jump as soon as you hit the ground, so it keeps your speed. Perfect jumping is when you only hear 1 or 0 footsteps. You will often «double step» when you start, which is messing up your timing and jumping late, causing you to lose your speed.

If you’re not a scripter, and you’re genuinely interested in bunny hopping then this in-depth guide is for all, beginners or experts, this guide is for you.

First off, a bind is an action you assign to a specific key of your choice, and I will show you how to do this, and what binds you need to use.

→ STEP ONE: Because some binds don’t take effect while you’re in the game, exit any server you are on and goto your main menu and goto options, make sure your developer console is enabled, to do this, goto →options →advanced →enable developer console; and make sure the box is checked, then click apply, after that, press the ` key, your console should now be open. Be sure to keep the options box open.

→ STEP TWO: Here is where you enter the binds, I will explain how and why you require these binds to bunnyhop.

→ STEP THREE: Start by setting your frame rate, type in «fps_max 34.6» into the console. This is to add a maximum frame rate to your game, assuring you can not double step. Double stepping will prevent you from gaining any speed whatsoever, how do you know if you’re doublestepping? When you jump in game, it will make two jumping noises instead of one. Setting your fps to 34.6 will basically slow your game down just enough so you only have time for one jump, once you do this, you will only hear one step. (sorry, it is hard to explain double-stepping) this command will not work if you are in a server

→ STEP FOUR: Using your mousewheel to jump will take some getting used to, it took me over 3 months to get good at it. In console, type bind mwheelup «+jump» yes, you do need the quotations, now you will jump by scrolling up, you can also type bind mwheeldown «+jump» to make scrolling down another way to jump, yes, you can have both mwheel up and mwheel down bound to jumping, making it easy to spam wheel to jump

→ STEP FIVE: Now, I dont personally do this but binding q to left can make you spin in circles, which you can use to your advantage while pre-speeding, just type this in console: bind q «+left»
when using your mousewheel do jump with it, you should gain speed.

Here is where you put it all together, your binds, your patience, and your mouse scrolling skills, oh and I may have forgotten to mention; if you’re thinking about using scripts, keep in mind that a lot of popular servers have an automatic ban system in place for any lua scripts, including LifePunch, Many DarkRP servers, JACG, and =PG=

So anyways, let’s get started shall we?

First, start by joining a bunnyhop server, I personally like JACG for ease of use and maps that are basic.

→ STEP ONE: Start off by prespeeding, this is the act of getting speed to do this, hold your q + left bind, and start using your mwheel binds, just scroll to jump, and scroll right when you’re about to hit the ground, and by doing this over and over, you will start to gain speed

→ STEP TWO: Bunny Hopping is pretty simple, but combining it with strafing can be pretty difficult and can be the hardest part, you need to have good hand eye coordination, start by stopping holding your q +left bind and prespeeding and proceed to jump on a bunnyhopping platform, when you jump, do not press w or s, this will cause you to lose lots/all of your speed. So when your are hopping (still with your mwheel) move your cursor left and right, while still aiming for platforms, use A and D in addition with strafing, hold A whie turning left, and D while turning right, a good way to continue jumping is by spamming your mwheel up and down so it makes you jump non-stop. Strafing makes you gain speed, bunnyhopping contains the speed.

→ STEP THREE: Practice. This guide may be confusing, re-read it and pick up from it, combine what you just learned with lots of practice, if you did not understand this guide, feel free to let me know. I will work on it.
